Extremely impressed with Fixx and everyone there that I dealt with. They discussed all the requirements for a new under sink water heater for my flat to supply the kitchen sink and bathroom sink in the next room, as well as connections for a dishwasher and washing machinke. They provided a quote very quickly and the whole thing was installed just a few days later. Very neat setup, all ready for the kitchen fitter to complete the worktop and hook up the taps to the sink (see photos). I would 100% use Fixx again – I’m a very satisfied customer.

Very pleased with Fixx services, from start to finish. Craig kindly arranged for my Baxi Duo Tec boiler to be repaired asap and the engineer (Louis) arrived on time, was professional and polite, talked me through what he found and how he fixed it. Highly recommend! Thank you Fixx.

We had an Ideal Logic 2 Combi boiler fitted on 29/06/23 with Fixx.Craig the Engineer arrived bright and early after a call to say he would be there in 30 minutes. He was very efficient and finished by mid afternoon before running through all the wireless thermostat details before leaving. Found the company extremely helpful with any questions I asked, great company to do business with and would recommend highly.

The two gentlemen from Fixx did a fabulous job removing my Boiler Mate 2000 and replacing it with an unvented cylinder. Everything at each stage was explained to me and they worked extremely hard to achieve a fantastic result. I won’t hesitate to contact them in the future if and when I need a new boiler and would 100% recommend Fixx to anyone.

Edit: Since my previous review, representatives from the company have reached out to explain what had happened and rectified the situation where they could. We are happy with the level of customer service and how our problem had been resolved.please be careful instructing these to do any investigative works with the view to do remedial works afterwards. was impossible to get a quote, the communication was appalling and it was a waste of time and money.

Air Conditioning York FAQ's

Below are some of our most commonly asked questions about installing air conditioning units in York and the surrounding areas. If you need personalised advice, contact Fixx today.

How much does air conditioning cost in York?

Our air conditioning units all start from £700 + VAT, but your final bill will be determined by the following factors:

  • model of air conditioning unit chosen (well-known brands will cost more)
  • difficulty of installation (some houses are easier than others)
  • type of air conditioning system (ducted systems are more expensive than split air conditioning)
  • labour costs (the number of installers required will need to be considered)

Other factors could also play a part, but for a detailed quote for your specific project, contact Fixx today.

Do you need planning permission for air conditioning?

No, in the vast majority of cases air conditioning won’t require planning permission. Small units in York are generally considered ‘permitted development’. However, you should check with your local council if you’re unsure.

How long will air conditioning units last?

Generally air conditioning systems last for between 10 and 15 years, but this can be extended if cared for properly with regular service from professionals like our team at Fixx.

Is air conditioning bad for the environment?

Older units certainly used to be, but nowadays there is a much larger drive in the industry as a whole to make air conditioning systems as green as possible. Systems with EER and SEER energy efficiency ratings show that the units use little energy and will therefore cost even less to run too!
